If your electricity cut out when you turned on a light switch or electrical appliance, this strongly suggests that your fuses have tripped. Check the fuse board and try switching tripped switches.
If you flick the tripped switch and it won’t stay upright, then the faulty switch or appliance may still be plugged in. Unplug the broken appliance and try again.
If no switches have tripped, check with your neighbours to find out if they are having issues too. Contact Scottish & Southern Energy Networks who will be able to confirm if there is a power cut and when the power will be back on. You can call 105 or visit https://www.ssen.co.uk/powertrack/
